3 March 2006 - New guidance published for Privacy Statements on Websites and for Charities and non-profit making organisations
Data Protection Commissioner Emma Martins today published two new guidance documents relating to
Privacy Statements on websites as well as guidance for
charities and non-profit making organisations.
The guidance on Privacy Statements is particularly important for organisations who collect personal data through their websites, and provides the foundations for a data protection compliant privacy statement. It also explains the differences between a Privacy Statement and a Privacy Policy.
The guidance for Charities and non-profit making organisations explains the available exemptions for this type of organisation, and what is meant by the term 'non-profit making organisation'.
